You'd better ask your children, they normally know much about that! :wink:
Ringtones:
I think, the answer is not so easy, because I do not know, which file format your phone will accept. Is it ready for *.wav or *.mp3 input?
You can compare:
music: wav --> mp3
drawings: dxf --> zip
that means you can work with wav-files and save them as compressed mp3-files. My Nokia can play mp3 as ringtone, but some older phones have special needs, perhaps *.midi or own formats.
put "mp3 tools freeware" into google, then you will have a big choice: here is only one, but a good result.
Nokia 6230i:
- gallery
- mp3
- select a track
- options: choose as ringtone
-

Zitat von Rob Cullen...have to do now is figure out how to use it... :roll: :roll: :roll:
It's very easy:
- Open sound file
- select a part
- export selection as mp3
Transfer to nokia and enjoy!
Ooh, I forgot to tell you :oops:
I had this file already here, and there is a link on audacity homepage, too.
Hi Rob,
aac does a 30...70% better compression than mp3, so if you need many ringtones, you should use this format to save space.
But out there seems to be no freeware mp3-to-aac converter
Yes, there are lots of good shareware converters, but I don't need them. I have a 512 MB MMC card in my phone, so I could take millions of mp3 ringtones with me :band:
