Hello!
I was wondering - because I think I have some walls that are too big (long) for fabrication, transportation and assembling - can I split the wall into two walls without deleting any part of the wall???
Hello!

No, you cannot split the wall, but you can cut the long beams with Dicam 3-5-04 or in wall construction with 6-3-5.
So - you mean, in ground floor I can adjust the walls to a certain length, and add new walls at that part of wall, that is deleted?
And then in wall design I can cut the timbers in that part of wall that staied and I could before deleting the timber that is now outside the wall - use wall macro to save the timbers for the other part of the wall (the new wall).
No, nothing will be deleted. Only make a split cut, and set one more post beside the cut. In your plan you write: wall_1, part_A, part_B...
Hi Thorvald
In Groundplan, you can cut a wall back to a line (3-4) and then add a new wall next to the wall you have just cut
So in one length, you can have two or more walls if you wish.
Ideally this should be done before you put the timbers in, but you can reassign them using the Building MOS if you wish.
One useful feature of the Building MOS whic you may not know about is the preview option - see picture attached.
If the preview button is depressed, then when any item in the list is highlighted, all the elements that are in then MOS are turned green so you can see exactly what is in each MOS.
I don't know if this helpful to you.
Cheers
Hello. Rob Cullen - yes I have seen the preview option, and yes it can be quite useful, if you have to work with MOS and D-cam - but that would be my last option if I have no other options because it is a bit difficult to work in D-cam and MOS.
Rob Cullens and Der_planner's answers are a bit opposite - or maybe just two ways. What Rob Cullen said was what I was thinking to do - and starting new buildings I think about the length of the wall elements when I draw the walls in groundplan. But in stead of using MOS I think I would use wall macro to reassign some of the timbers belonging to the "cut away wall" - that is easier than MOS I think (maybe).
Der_planners suggestion sounds even better - but I don't remember to have seen any "split cut" option to cut a wall. But if it is there I think I would like that method - maybe. With this method the wall will still be 15 m long for example but split into two parts?
Zitat von Thorvald.... I don't remember to have seen any "split cut" option to cut a wall. But if it is there I think I would like that method - maybe. With this method the wall will still be 15 m long for example but split into two parts?
There is no split cut for walls, but only for the timbers within the wall.
