Can anyone please explain how to make two 45 degree cuts on the end of a tenon as shown.

No problem. I realized I might have gone a bit too quickly. I am going to respond to future posts with videos, and will slow it down a bit.
You can change the resolution of the video right in you tube. It looks good to me at 720p. (see the bottom right hand corner of the viewer)
