Hello,

I have a client that is trying to access their 1-5-1 DCAM library. When they pull up this dialogue box the button for "Directory: New" is greyed out and the remaining 3 buttons are there, but when clicked do not do anything.

Is there a file missing in the background, or is this an add on module?

Thanks,

Dan

Thanks!

Jens,

Can you please provide the email address for the help desk?

Thanks,

Daniel

Hello,

I was changing the settings for the "takeoff areas" in project data, because I was trying to create a list showing the count of drillings in my project.

As soon as I saved the settings Project Data shut down.

When I try to reopen it - either from within the project I am working on or from project administration - I get this error. See attached screenshot.

Thanks,

Dan

We just discussed this on the phone, and discovered that when you "save current view' from DCAM the only option for lists is a Timber/Beam list.

There is not an option there for a Profiled Beam List. This would be a nice addition to the program.

canadianlog thought to change the object info in his model from a profiled beam to a beam. This way the objects came through on the list. It's a workaround, but it works.

Hello,

I have made a half round profile for the log building module and it is coming in as a rectangular timber, not the half round.

Why is this?

Please see attached.

Hello,

I would like to use a font installed on my OS called City Blueprint.

It displays and can be used in all other MS programs, but does not appear on the font list in Dietrich's. Why would this be?

Thanks,

Daniel

Joe,

Paul is using Version 8 of Google Sketchup.

Dan

Hello,

I opened your position, and used 3-8-1 on this corner connection, and it worked fine.

This is the lap joint function. Were you using the 3-8-4 notch function?

I hope this solves the problem.

Thank you all for your responses. I can now see the difference between rounding an entire list versus rounding specific materials in the list.

I spoke with Wil, and he pointed out that I needed to ensure that the order number of the material was also in the material database. See attached photos for how to access the material database and make changes.

Thanks,

Dan

Hello,

I have exported my list to Project Data, and now I am trying to add 6" to the lengths of all of my pieces.

When I click the length additions button on the toolbar the list pops up and includes all other types of objects, but does not include GLU, the Item# that I wish to round up. I scrolled to the bottom of the list and it is not there.

How can I add GLU to the list to be rounded?

Thanks,

Daniel

Is this what you want to do?

See link.

Dan

Manfred,

No, I have not had a reply.

Please let me know how we can post this on the news board on the start page.

Thank you!

Daniel

Hello,

I need an experienced Dietrich's user to help with doing timber frame and log construction models and drawings.

You must be capable of creating organized Dietrich's models and single beam drawings according to Canadian specifications. An understanding of Canadian residential construction techniques is recommended, but not essential.

Please contact me at d.depoe@dietrichs.com if you are interested working with me.

Regards,

Daniel Depoe

Kayaker,

No problem. I realized I might have gone a bit too quickly. I am going to respond to future posts with videos, and will slow it down a bit.

You can change the resolution of the video right in you tube. It looks good to me at 720p. (see the bottom right hand corner of the viewer)

Jiri,

Please send our North American lead (Wil Dancey - w.dancey@dietrichs(dot)com ) an email, and he can send you some English tutorials.

If you have any specific questions, please post them on the forum.

Thanks,

Dan

Kayaker,

Let me know if you have questions.

Dan

Thorvald,

Try also checking the line of boxes under "c", core slices will not be cut back by walls.

Let us know how that works.

Hello,

I now have V8 and V9 installed on my computer.

I had V8 working fine, but now when I click the shortcut from my desktop I get the following message. Do I really have to reinstall V8?

See attached picture.

Thanks,

Daniel

I ended up reinstalling V8 and selecting "Use dBase from CD" to solve this problem.

Thanks Jim.
