  • Packing up a project

    One thing I miss in the new version - 8.02 - is the small rotating 'D' logo in the bottom right hand corner which spun round when a project was being packed up. It's nice to know when this process is complete.


    Any chance of this coming back?

  • Stair drawings

    We no longer seem to get the dotted hidden lines for the bottom half of stairwells when imported into floor plan drawings.


    Is there any reason for this and are there any plans to change it back to how it was.

    Hi All


    Whilst this facility is great - with a subsequent import into Sketchup, there are a few problems.


    Hipped roofs don't seen to go across properly, nor do dormer cheek walls. Has anyone else noticed this?

  • Another wish - roof plan

    Hi Thorvald


    V8, as far as I can see, is the same as V7.


    You can get a timber list to include on a drawing of a stored view, from DiCAM, but not a beam list - the type of list that groups the components into their respective section sizes.


    From Roof Design if you make a storage for a roof plan, there is no option to get any type of list automatically included on your drawing - neither timber list or beam list.


    I think this is a shame and I hope there are plans to change this in the not too distant future.

  • Another wish - roof plan

    I know it's ungrateful to ask for wishes after the release of such a lot of great improvements, but will we ever have the opportunity to have a beam list included in the roof plan storage from roof design (or DiCAM for that matter).

  • Object filter in V8 Dicam

    Hi all


    I really like the new object filter in V8. However, would it be easy to enable a double click to transfer an entry from one side of the dialog box to the other?


    Just a small point point, but I think it could be very beneficial.

  • Video capture - Open GL

    Hi


    Has anyone had any success in creating avi movies of real time views of a frame in Open GL.


    I have tried Camtasia with limited success - tends to be very jerky, and I have just downloaded a small programme called Fraps which I haven't figured out yet.


    I just wondered if anyone else had got more useful experience.

    Thanks for the reply.


    Perhaps I am missing something blindingly obvious here - and apologies in advance if that's the case - but where is the Height Flag at the Top Edge of the Roof Skin in your illustration?


    I can see the one at the Top Edge of the rafter - at 13'- 1 1/32", but not the one at the top of the roof skin - which I have assumed is the top of the outer most slice of the roof build up.


    Your settings have check marks for two height flags but I can only see one.


    Again, sorry for being dense, but it would be nice to have this dimension available even if this is not the setting to display it.

  • Panel details in drawings

    Hi Everyone


    Can people tell me what techniques they use to get a list of panels (sheathing) to appear on a specific wall drawing.


    I know I can make a list first and cut and paste this into the text editor in PlanCAD, but the tabs disappear this creates a lot of work.


    However, maybe I am missing something very obvious, or there may be a clever way around this problem. or I might be missing something very obvious.


    Anyway, it would be good to hear other people's ideas.
