Maybe you can mirror the two beams. Or you can copy the beams and for origin point choose a point on one beam and as position point choose the "same" point at the other beam.
    ??

    Hi.

I was thinking that if I had a profiled steel beam and perhaps some auxilaries in steel, in a wall element, then when I put the drawing in PlanCad - the profiled beams and steel aux, would be in independent layers, so I could easily turn of all steel t.ex.

But it seems not to work like that???

Aaa ok, but how are textures made then?? If you look at the textures in Dietrischs they also repeats with intervals. So what one could say is, that the bigger picture I take of a surface the better it would work as a texture?

Yeeah, I was thinking about that possibility, but I did not have the time to go further with it. Maybe in the next house I will do it, to see wich variant I like. If I remember correct, it is also possible to put your textures?? T.ex. if I go out and take a picture of a concrete element covering 1 m2 or so??

I was thinking about to use concrete aux. in panel settings, but it is not possible to choose #Concrete. So until further notice I just leave the material field empty, and then the elements have a grey surface, that is acceptable as concrete. Real concrete is not so dark and rough as the concrete material. But it is quite good to show that this is concrete.

Hey, a9tech - that was a good hint... :grinning_squinting_face: Also to get a free cad software, where you can draw and edit dwg drawings etc. Great. No more dwg viewer from AutoDesk (maybe)....

Hi. Why is it sometimes not possible to use intersecting volumes to make cuts? I want to cut away a piece of the flange in a IPE steel profile - in all other places it worked, but in one place it doesn't work, and this simply irritates me. Are there other ways to do it? Or why sometimes intersecting volumes does not work??

Why "of course" text and measurements dissapears when converting dwg to dxf?? Is it because of the dxf format - that dxf format perhaps contains only lines?? For me it is irritating, because when inserting windows and doors - the information of the windows and doors (sizes, SH etc.) is on the architect drawing. It would be much easier and faster to insert windows and doors, if I don't have to switch between Dietrichs and architect drawing. If I in dietrischs assisting geometry instantly can see the information about that window. I think I am not the only one through history, who would like to be able to import dwg into Dietrichs. I just don't remember the reason why this is not implemented in Dietrichs.

I would like to hear more about dwg to dxf converters - are there any free software, that can do that???

    Hello.
An old fashioned topic, but still actual. I have one thing here: It is a bit irritating that text and measurements dissapeares, when dwg is converted to dxf.

I also - I should make a handrail with rounded edges, so I made the rounding with a number of straight lines. That is the same, as the program does, if you make a tube or column with circular section.

Or - if the profile is used several times - make the section in the material database. First draw it in Plancad, so you can get the coordinates you need.

I must say I don't know what is a moulded (ovolo) edge is??? :?

    1. the problem with dhpdat.ini is known, but we have not found the reason for this, yet. It seems to have something to do with changing the language. If you could see a regularity in it, that would help.
We found that dhpdat.ini is not deleted, but only renamed. Just look for a "dhpdat.new" and re-name it. Then you will not loose your path settings.

Maybe this problem occurs when the program have been opened a specific number of times?? I will try to count next time it happens.
