I was thinking about to use concrete aux. in panel settings, but it is not possible to choose #Concrete. So until further notice I just leave the material field empty, and then the elements have a grey surface, that is acceptable as concrete. Real concrete is not so dark and rough as the concrete material. But it is quite good to show that this is concrete.

Yeeah, I was thinking about that possibility, but I did not have the time to go further with it. Maybe in the next house I will do it, to see wich variant I like. If I remember correct, it is also possible to put your textures?? T.ex. if I go out and take a picture of a concrete element covering 1 m2 or so??
-
That's right. But it's not so easy, because "textures" are not only bitmaps. They have to be seamless. A normal picture from your digicam is never seamless. That means, you will see a 1x1 m grid in your selfmade concrete.

Aaa ok, but how are textures made then?? If you look at the textures in Dietrischs they also repeats with intervals. So what one could say is, that the bigger picture I take of a surface the better it would work as a texture?

There are 2 kinds of textures defined in texture sets:
- those which repeat in a defined x-y-direction
- others that are stretched to the whole area of a surfaceAnd there are different types of parts, which need different texture sets:
- beams are filled with the same texture, except end A and B
- plates can be filled with different front and backside and the 4 sides around.Texture sets are internal and normally users should not change them. (normally
)
There is a folder "Freitext". You can replace these texture_xx.bmp with your own pictures. They will appear as 1x1 m. In CD version 7, there are more textures, named "Vollbild....bmp". They are made only for plates, and are stretched to the full front surface.
Feel free to make experiments with them.Seamless textures must exactly fit left /right, and up/down. Making seamless textures in photoshop is something you really have to study. It is difficult to do, and takes much time. There is software to make artificial textures, but at the first time you use it, you will not get everything but the results what you want.

I have made materials with the color ral7023, I think this will do for my purpose - maybe in next house I will change it to the concrete texture to see what I like most.
