I am not sure if I have asked about this before. But does Dietrichs have a stand alone viewer, that makes it possible for - let's say a customer - to view my 3D model in the same kind of Open GL view, that is integrated in the design program? And then the next question could be - how to share the 3D model to such a viewer?

I think I have been into this before. For me the only way out - as far as I remember - have been to select some random points to make a random outline that can be closed. Undo it and try again.

Oh - this was an old post - so probably you figured it our. But I think I would use ceiling design module.

Hi.
Normally when I make outside walls as concrete sandwich walls, I "see" the walls from outside. But in some cases I need to "see" them from the inside, in order to make correct production drawings. If I have already made my 3D model, seeing the walls from the outside and I change the view direction - then the layers swich places from inside to outside. Can I not change the view direction without changing the layers?

Hi - oh thank you very much Joachim. But Der_Planer already helped me out, though he could not make a IFC export, with his version 7 of the program. But he made a 3D-DXF export and that seemed to be enough for the architect. But if they still need a IFC file, I'll let you know. Thank you very much for your offer.

Good morning,
just my two cents, it´s the wrong decesion not have a service contract, there are so many things in the upgrades every year!!!
In the new V15 is an IFC interface -->*click*
Another possiblity is a 3dDXF- Export, this option works in 7.03 :wink:Hi - good morning - just my 2 cents. You're right - but back then 8 years ago, when we bought Dietrichs, we didn't think about it. Or I think I did, around last time we upgraded, but the company couldn't afford it at that time. And since then there was no money for that kind of things - also because Dietrichs is a very expensive program, even with the annually upgrade contract.
3D DXF in 7.03 - no - not if you did not buy the export module.

Nobody? Anybody? If you can / want to help me, write here or send me your e-mail in a pm.

Hi.
As you probably know, I am quite old fashioned... Well not really, but I am still in version 7.03 - the company simply cannot afford to upgrade (it also went bankruptcy earlier this year). But any ways - I made a job and the architect is asking me to export my 3D model to for example IFC. I have no idea what IFC is, but I just know that in my Dietrichs version I can export to - nothing.
Anybody out there who can and who want? If necessary I can perhaps pay a little bit for it, but not too much.
-
Probably way too late to answer - but in some cases (but I am not sure if you can with the Dietrichc windows), you can "grab" a side of the window to drag it smaller with the mouse.
-
Aha - that can be. I'll try that tonight.
Thanks for the help.

I really don't understand why I can't get the timber cut list onto my drawings. When I make my wall drawing, I am almost sure I use the same settings I have used before to make the similar drawing.

Ok - then it is clear what possibilities I have.

Hi.
Ok - but no, SAT is not on the list of 3D export file extension possibilities. But maybe it is also overall easier if I just draw the house myself, on the basis of the plan lines, I can get out of it.

Hi.
I got a sketchup model from a customer. I installed Sketchup 2015 in order to open it. I still have Dietrichs 7.04. It can be that the sketchup model is just not very good. I tried to make a horizontal section in 1st and 2nd floor and export to dwg, so I could have something to work from. I was also thinking about exporting the whole sketchup model to Dietrichs 3D, but I am not sure if that would work.
So maybe the two dwg floor plan sketches is the best I can get out of it, to have something to work from??

I think the main problem is that he is using a free version of Envisioneer. Now I have installed Envisioneer to see what fish it is. But it is a little strange that he can only make these strange file formats - even for a free trial or free software, I would expect to be able to make at least PDF files. "Original" PDF drawing files, I can convert to DXF with my ProgeCad program. Another option is to ask him to use programs like Roomsketcher or Sketchup, as it might give us more options and make it easier for me to get drawing files, I can use in Dietrichs, so I can calculate an offer for his house. Probably Sketchup would be the best.
-
No body?? I hope someone can convert these files to dxf. It would be helpful. Otherwise I'd have to draw the house from scratch, more or less guessing the measurements, and then adjust until my drawings are how he wanted it - before I can start to calculate an offer for his project.
-
If someone gives me some .bld files, from the program Envisioneer, can anyone here convert them to dxf, so I can use them in Dietrichs???? He also sent me a .bim file (with the same drawings), in case that is better.

Ok - I have cleaned my old uploads. So I try again. Aaah ok still can't max. size: 20 - but this is 21+...
But ok, I have sent it in e-mail to the support. -
I just today realized that one of my projects appears empty in Dietrichs. But in the folder containing the files for the project, everything seems to be there. I also tried to copy all files from a backup, from as long ago as the backup goes (December 2 - I finished the project at September 20 and haven't touched it since). But this backup looks the same.
I upload the packed project (from the backup). Ok - I can't upload it (too big file size and "Sorry, you have reached your maximum Upload Quota Limit of 50". Not sure if I can do something about that.
But what could I look for to repair the project?

Hi.
Is there anybody here, who works with Dietrichs and who has a 3D printer?? Well - can be that it is not necessary to work in Dietrichs as I don't know if one can transfer some Dietrichs file to a 3D printer.
But I may be going to have a job, for a 3D printer - if somebody have the possibility. It won't be a big job. But I am not sure if I'll make a 3D model in Dietrichs of this item - maybe only 2D drawings. Because Dietrichs is not so good for "soft" 3D model shapes. The item in speaking would be something similar to this: http://www.carterenterprises.c…ases/resistance-activated but a little different and with a different purpose of use.
