So what files contains the content of the position???

Hi.
In a project I suddenly have a empty position. Not sure why. Are the GBD files the position files?? That could sound correct, because the file 13101008.gbd is missing and the position 8 is empty.
So is it this file I should recover from backup???

Ok I see. It seems like it was not the scale that was the problem, but the dimension settings for the drawing. That was in inch - don't know if that is default by Dietrich's, when you create a new drawing - but it could be the reason. I not often make new drawings that I need to make measurements on - I copy existing drawings, delete the content and make the new drawing...
-
Oh strange - now I just saw it. I wanted to check something else - right clicked on the measurement to see properties and saw that it is in inch. But why ot suddenly is comming in inch????
-
How to fix this so the drawing scale and measurements is correct??? I don't understand why it works on the one drawing and then not work on the other I copy parts of the drawing to. The units settings in D-Cad is millimeter. When I make a new drawing, there is no possibility to choose anything about units.
-
Before I try to understand completely what you say, I'll ask: What units??
First I imported the dxf into the other drawing, scaled it correctly acc. to what drawing scale it was originally. There no problems. Then I copied part of that D-Cad drawing to another drawing, with another scale.
-
I have experienced this quite a few times, but never really understood why. Before I have not seen it (I think) on drawings that I have made my self, but on drawings imported from architect dwg files and such that perhaps was not in correct scale.
But here the drawing scale is 100, but what I measure and what I measure
is not the same, a factor 25 something wrong. How I made this drawing: I had a similar drawing on A3 landscape in scale 1:200 - but I wanted to "zoom in" and have the drawing in 1:100. So I made a new drawing, with A3 portrait, scale 1:100 and copied parts of the first drawing to this new drawing.
How to fix this??

Hi.
I am still on version 7.03.
I am finished with the project, but if I can see that these many points of gravity are still there, I could send it to you, so you could have a look. I have seen it also in other projects. -
Hi.
I just saw that Dietrichs for some reason had made center of gravity points for all parts in the element. Normally I just want to have for the complete element. I normally just let Dietrichs calculate center of gravity for all walls and all layers - but then why later it suddenly shows up on all items in the element? How to get these to not show and only show the one, for the complete element??
-
Yes, there is a reason. They cast the concrete sandwich elements, with the outside plate down in the form and they want the wall element numbers to show to the inside of these elements. As far as I remember wall names are put on the drawings, on the view side.
It is not difficult of course to just move these names to the inside and to make wall drawings seen from back side. But the other would be a little more easier.
-
Hi.
I was making a new project, with concrete sandwich walls and I was wondering, what if one would want to have the view direction as the inside of the outside walls. But when I tried to change view direction, the outside plate became inside and vice verca. And I also tried all combinations (I think) of wall input directions and right-left / left/right input directions. But nothing seemed to give that the view direction would be inside.
I was thinking maybe, I would need to define my wall properties for such a project, so that I change the order of layers. I haven't tried this - do you think that is the only solution??

I think I figured out a work around. I made two position copies, in each deleting everything else, than the single deck element. Then in "ceiling design", I used the function "Extras/center of gravity" and made a ceiling drawing. From that ceiling drawing I could copy the COG to the right place on the production drawing.

Hi.
I have some special shaped concrete deck elements around the stair. I would like to write on the drawing the center of gravity, in order to place the lifting points in the best places.
In D-cam's object info, under "determine values", there are some values for center of gravity. I assume that all the values X, Y, Z are values that gives the center of gravity. But what I am not sure of, is where is 0,0???

Hi.
Does any one know of engineering static programs for calculation of concrete stairs - incl. spiral stairs??
-
Thank you very much. The job took a bit long time - but that is because I needed actually to do 3 things: A form that could be produced as a form to cast the stair, a "form" only to use in Dietrichs to cut the concrete stair with intersecting volumes - and the concrete stair it self. Each of these jobs required a bit different methods and that I was not aware of from the beginning. It required almost all my patience, but I am happy with the result.

-
Finally I got the result I wanted: A form to cast the stair in and the finished concrete stair. And what got me to the result? Well, I think two tips could be good to remember another time:
1) The things you make to cut the result, is good to make over dimensioned, ro they totally cover the volume that you cut into. So the only thing that is left is the result volume.
2) To set the precision value to a higher value than you expect. In this case 0,2 and 0,02, was precisions that did what I wanted. -
Well, I have come quite much closer to the end. But I cannot get the steps cut out. I cannot understand why the underside of the stair cannot be cut-out into the concrete block. I can maybe understand the step side, because the should go through the concrete block. So I need to make them wider.
-
I have figured it out, kind of. More or less acc. do my idea above. Just the heights teased me a lot so it took quite some time to get to a result that I am very satisfied with. I.e. a "form" to "cast" the concrete in - and this model of the form, can actually with a few modifications be used to make a actual form for the stair.
Then I was thinking to put in a big block of concrete (panel) in the wall design and then in D-cam with intersecting volumes, with the spf as male and the concrete as female, cut the stair out of the concrete. I don't know why but it doesn't work as intended. The cutted concrete does not form the stair. I thought I would get two concrete parts - one that was the stair inside the form and one for the rest of the big concrete block outside the form. But no. I don't know if it is my version of Dietrichs that cannot do it or if I have done something wrong. But the shape of the lower side of the stair is (almost) perfect.

I have a slight idea how I may be able to to do it. Copy the first step down a certain distance - maybe the step height. Then copy that step polar - but with maybe 20 x more copies, or more, than I used to make the top steps. Then move each step, up like I did with the top steps, but this time 20 x less than the step height. Then I am not sure, but maybe it is possible to camfer the edge of the steps, so the surface seems smooth. Maybe it can be done before copying the steps polar, I am not sure.

Hi.
I am about make a free standing almost half circle concrete stair. At the moment I am making the form, needed to cut a concrete block, to shape the stair. At the same time this form in Dietrichs could be used to make the form in the real life. Steps and sides are not so difficult, but the lower side I cannot figure out. I think I am in the right direction - but I don't get it.

I was thinking this method: I copy the steps down and move them to form a flat surface. Then angle all of this in the angle of the stair. But this gives wrong result. Then I copied the steps so there are the same distance (not moving them on flat surface) and the angled each step this stair angle. But that looks wrong also.
How to calculate / measure how the steps should be copied and angled to form the underside of the stair?? What line should the be rotated around? Anybody knows? I have a feeling that it is not enough only to rotate them around a edge of the step or along the middle of the step, but on the other hand the stair should have the same thickness under all steps, so I don't understand why.
