It looks like the files named something with "textur" are for example "tiled_1_1x1m" in the Dietrich software and files with names something like "vollbild" are those called "strech..." in the Dietrichs software. So wich one would be better to use for a texture of horizontal wood boards facade?

I want to do this, but I don't find anything Str_*.png. I have version 7.03, by the way. I find these "textur" files. Is it one of these I should exchange with a 512x512 picture of the texture I want??

Aaah, I actually think I did it correct. But I just forgot that the panels would now be D-Cam panels and not ceiling panels. That was why I couldn't see them, because D-Cam objects was not "on". But now it is as it should be, and I have moved the items to correct ceilings elements and layers. :grinning_squinting_face:

Hi working in a position I deleted to layers of gypsum in ceiling design - that I should not have deleted. Was thinking this was the next floor with no floor gypsum - think twice... ](*,) Well but this position I am working on is a copy of another position so I could copy the gypsum from that position and into the new position. But I don't remember how - long time since Í did that...

I think it is in D-Cam and I think it is under file/position (1-1). But there are so many save options to choose from...

Well, maybe it's not worth it. Maybe I'll just try and see how far I can get in Dietrichs. I can make the roundings by making molds of straight pieces that are copied and rotated and intersecting volumes. This would give a near rounding shape. If it is made on a CNC machine - I think - it would still need some handcrafting afterwards for finishing.

It's just that I saw Markus once make one of these double curved roofs - it seemed like he had a net, where he could drag single points to change the form.

I have also, I think, seen people here talking about making bended wood pieces. Is that possible? That could be for the bow limbs.

Hmmm., maybe worth to look at. Basically - to make the extrutions in the 2, perhaps 3 directions with intersecting volumes and such, should be quite ok to do. Then basically I just need to take that and round off some of the forms. Maybe this last step could be done easily in Blender.

Wonder if I could also do all this in ProgeCad - a cheap ACad software.

Well I am not using Dietrichs to build bows, I am using it to build buildings. Archery and designing a bow is a free time thing. I just thought it could be interesting to see, if I could make the bow I have designed, in 3D in Dietrichs. I don't have a AutoCad software, so I can't make the drawing you suggest.

Cinema4D - looks good, but looks expensive. Do you know what it costs? For example Engineering Edition?

Yes, ok that could be first step. Take my hand drawings (side view), convert them to dxf and - how do you extrude the 2D drawing??

Then you have the side view, then maybe make the rear / front view the same way, but make it as a "mold" and use intersecting volumes, to make the cuts that define the rear / front view??

The last and probably more difficult step would be to make the more or less rounded edges - especially the grip.

By the way, would you do it in wall design or solely in D-Cam? I think, I would suggest wall design.

Bolts and other "external" steel parts, are probably more or less made in the same way - perhaps in other positions and inserted on the bow. See also this webpage, where there are pictures of some of these details, like hinges and such: http://www.bowreports.com/comp…nster/phoenix/phoenix.htm

    Hi.

I have often been thinking about to try to make a 3D model of a bow in Dietrichs. But I am afraid that it is not possible to make satisfactory nice. Examples: Border Bows, White Wolf bows, my own bow: [/img] and a special type of compound bow: Monster Bows.

It is actually something like the latter type of bow I'd like to make a 3D model of - but with my own design made in wood. I am finished with making the drawings / sketches of the design by hand.

In the pure 3 dimensions, it is perhaps not so difficult. But the rounded shapes that makes a wooden bow so beautiful - just the grip as one example - would be very difficult to make in Dietrichs, I think.

    What do you think?

    Hi.

I was thinking if there is a way to convert a hand paper drawing to for example dwg, that can be converted to dxf and then inserted in D-Cad? I can scan the drawing in .PDF or .jpg for example - but then to convert from these formats? Is it possible?

    Zitat von Thomas Bredt

    Hello Thorvald,

Dietrich's Version 7.03 should run without problems on W7/64, however, the CPU of the laptop you chose is a pretty weak, so You shouldn't expect it to be a performance monster. I'd rather recommend a Core i5-520M or faster for best performance. The video card and the RAM size are well conditioned

    kind regards from Munich

Well, actually now, I am looking at to buy Toshiba Qosmio X500-11c, with i7 processor and Nvidia 360M graphic card, among other things. But I am not going to buy before August, maybe at that time I find a even better computer.

I am (again) dreaming of a new computer. But can version 7.03 run on 64 bit Windows 7??

How good is this processor and graphic card when we talk about Dietrichs:
    CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-330M-processor | clockfrekvens : 2.13 GHz | Front Side Bus : 1,066 MHz | cache, andet niveau : 3 MB
    Grafics: NVIDIA® | NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 330M med CUDA™-teknologi
The computer is with 4Gb ram, don't know if I can get it with more, if I order it.

I have had the problem for some time, without doing anything about it. But I must say that I don't remember if I had the problem with the printer I had before (this Brother printer I got in January / February). I also think that it have worked on the new printer. Ok, a few tests:
    - A4 PDF page, printed on A4. Done correct.
    - A3 PDF page, printed on A4. Not correct.
    - Same A4 drawing printed from Dietrichs, printed on A4. Done correct.
    - Same A3 drawing printed from Dietrichs, printed on A4. Done correct.

Ok, this could indicate 2 things:
    - Printing from Dietrichs to PDF has some (hidden error). Hidden because the PDF-file is correct.
    - A problem with the PDF-viewer (Foxit Reader).

Trying to install / update Foxit Reader: Hmmm, no. Perhaps I need to restart computer to see result.

On my drawings I have a info box, that I have made in a separate window, in order to keep it same size, no matter what scale the main drawing is in. When I make my PDF-prints, everything is there. When I print my PDF files on my printer (Brother MFC-6490CW) the lines in the infor box is there, but the text is not... I don't understand why?
