Hi all,
could someone tell me, please, what process/es should I use and how to notch open stringers efficiently?
I have already placed the treads in them as per the attachment.
cheers,

here it is...
3-8-3 in DICAM is what I use
You can use 3-8-4 in Version 7.03 to cut a notch in the stringer....
Hi Jim,
thanks, again, for answering. I will give this a try tonite. I have not installed 7.02 yet (but I guess I will be installing it tonite). Is 3-8-4 in v7. different from 3-8-4 in v6. ??
cheers,
My version 6.02 won't open right now, so I can't give you an answer.....
In both versions, 3-8-4 is the good old "notch" which can be used in so many ways...
thank you all,
tried 3-8-4 and works very nicely. I still don't quite understand it but figured out how to notch the open stringers easily.
looks like a very poweful process. what else can it be used for?
3-8-4 is my first choice, whenever I need notches with gap(s) around it.
Example: most metal shape connectors need gaps on one or more sides for easier assembly or to make space for nailheads.
