In wall design, I used assisting geometry lines now I would like the same lines for some basic layout in another wall. I thought I would be able to copy and paste, can assisting geometry be copied to another wall?

Hi Kayaker,
At this time the assisting geometry cannot be copied and pasted into a different wall in Wall Design. With your D-CAM Premium you can copy assisting geometry in D-CAM with 4-3-*. If you have a 2D DXF of your lines they can be imported into each wall in Wall Design.
There is a possibility:
- Make a drawing of your wall 'with assisting geometry'
- Open the drawing in D-Cad, and export it to dxf
- Go to wall design and import the dxf (only assisting layer).
Very good idea Planer
I like the import approach as well, but I'm hung up on the import factor the default is 1.000000 and lines are not in proportion to the drawing when the lines are brought in. I need to reset this import factor to?
Thanks!
Kayaker
Hi Kayaker,
If the dxf file was created in D-CAD, set the import factor to the scale of the drawing when you exported the dxf.
Thanks Jason and Der_Planer.
I was able to import the lines. Importing geometry lines into another wall will come in handy! ![]()

If one or more wall is equal or almost equal to another wall, it could be even more simple to use wall macro (1-5-1) and save the wall. If the wall is not completely equal to the saved wall timbers, then just insert the wall and adjust the wall timbers.
I don't know if this method will work in your case?
Hi Thorvald,
Not a bad idea, I'll give it a try!
Thanks!
