Rafters in the wrong direction of house - how to do that?

  • Hello!

Hope someone can help me. I am going to put raftes at a house - but the rafters are going to be put in the other direction than normally - see enclosed pictures. The picture from Dietrich is done with battens, but I first of all they are positioned in wrong layer / slice and not in the core slice - secondly the first rafter at the eve is hanging in the air, but I could just delete it if I like. And that leads to another thing - how to do the overhang in this case?

But the first question is most interesting - how to put rafters in that direction? I thought about making a ceiling area, but ceiling don't have a slope...

  • We call these timbers "purlins"....... or purlin for one......

Purlins can go above the rafter plane or within the rafter plane when drawn in D-CAM using 211 commands.
Section 320 has some purlin names, also 330 (in the English version).
Over here most timber names are based on the location in the frame.

    Hope this helps.
