devided boards in between 2 walls connection place

  • Hello, coleagues, I would like to trouble you a little bit.
Can someone to explain the reason of deviding board standing between 2 not connected walls. Sometimes its happends, sometimes - not. Even in one project.
    So, please explain.

  • Hi, I think I can answer that. It is because you have a inside wall that hit the outside wall in a T-connection. This inside wall makes the slice outline for the inside boards on the outside wall to be split at this point.

Cases where it is not split - well maybe if the inside wall is not connected to the outside wall or if it have been adjusted in length, so the inside wall does not go through this board-slice.

If you want to force the board to go through in one piece, no matter how connected or not the inside wall is - you can move the slice outline of the slice for the board, so there is no gap. Move one of the two vertical lines so it is in line with the other vertical line. This may help.

  • Hello, my friend Thorvald,
    how are you?
Thanks with answer but I think you are not right in general. Here is something other. The posibilietys which you explain I know too, but I am feeling very nervous when I must do that in other ways. How you a chance to try the automaticaly putting beams and etc. module (I am forgot the correct name)?

The table is from software version 8.03, but it is already available in your version 6.
You find it in the wall definition, where you input the thickness of the slices.
All slices which are defined as "Kernlage" (how to translate?) are not interrupted by connecting T-walls.

  • I have maybe a situation that is a little similar. For making a roof construction with roof trusses, I made walls for the roof trusses. Then I wanted to make a walkway with OSB, but I found that the OSB layers was interrupted by the "walls" (roof trusses). Then first I tried to go to ground plan and in properties of these walls to un-check the core slice (= kernlage), but that was not the solution. Then I went to the ceiling area and here I made the OSB layers to be core slices together with the wood layer - that worked! Untill now I didn't know that you could have more than one core slice and that core slice should be only slice 0...
