So far, I've only been able to accomplish that in two steps.
1. 5-2-01. Add req'd point (s)
2. 5-8-1. delete unwanted point (s)

Thank you Wil, Thank you Joachim. All appears to have installed correctly.

Thanks.
Will this have all my settings for walls and connections etc.?
Thank you Joachim. That worked out good ![]()
Now, what would be the most effective way to get my database information from my old computer to the new.
I have a lot of things there that I would not wish to start from the beginning.
There's issues networking Windows 7 to older Windows OS, so I've been copying my Projects to dvd and then onto my new computer.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Happy new year to you and your Family.
Allo Gents,
I have received my new computer and would like to install Dietrich's on it, but I have forgotten all the steps. Can you help me, please.
Also, this new machine runs Windows 7. Is there special considerations?
Merry Christmas to all.
Thanks Jim.
May the coming year be very good to you. :alc: :band:
Thanks Jo,
I will contact Wil Dancey.
Hey Dan,
I'm not much of a techy, but it sounds like a powerhouse.
I currently use a 5 yr old laptop with a Pentium M 1.6 Ghz with a 2 M cache and 2 gigs of DDR2 RAM and no fancy video card and just started seeing a slow down as my models have become more complex. I just ordered a new laptop with a duo core processor running at 2.2 Ghz, 2M cache and 4 Gigs of DDR3 RAM with a video card that'll share up to 1.8 G of memory.
My neighbor who does a lot of CAD rendering, video editing and music production through a very similar setup is quite happy with it.
I'm not a big fan of Dell but I do check out their website for comparisons. I ordered my computer through TigerDirect.ca because I live way out in the sticks, (not very far from you as the crow flies but an 10 hour drive to Canmore) If I lived in town I would certainly talk to the local shops.
Happy computing
Snagit huh, I'll check it out, thanks
Thanks Joachim,
It is a giant list isn't it. Thanks for the feedback. ![]()
Hi guys,
Where do I change my email address setting?
Hi Jo,
I've tried different things with the settings in the table and I can't seem to make it work.
If I divide my EXCEL table into two (2) entities, then I can paste them as separate pieces but as you can see, the result is not quite adequate.
Any help would be appreciated
Allo,
I'm trying to paste a large table from EXCEL which I've transfered to WORD onto a D-cad page and the program does not like what i'm trying to do.
I've attached the word file. Can anyone give me some guidance as to what I should do to have a large table like this.
I tried to attach my d-cad layout but can seem to only attach one file.
Thanks for your help.
It's the beauty of working in all the modules.
It's just quicker for my brain if I don't have to translate between what's on my screen in Ground plan and the paper floor plan. If I don't have the paper floor plan in front of me and I'm looking at Ground Plan on the screen and someone's talking in my ear or emailing me about a particular window, I don't need to go chasing after another drawing to determine whether I'm looking at the correct opening.
Look at it this way. When you print a grounplan, you can ouput the wall numbers on the drawing. When you ouput a wall drawing, the wall number is printed on the drawing. You know what you are looking at. You don't need to look at a third piece of information to confirm what you are looking at or to locate something.
I use a lot when inserting timbers into the model from DiCAM. I also use the trace feature a lot in function 1-1, but sometimes on a large model with lots of objects I find it's just easier to set the current wall using 6-4 and then 6-5.
Stranger. It works today.
:-k
Hi all,
I give the windows names much along the lines of Rob experience. It would be great to be able to corellate thing between Ground Plan and what youhave on a paper floorplan or actual window schedule.
I think in the meantime I'll try incorporating the Gound Plan number into the designation.
Thanks for the consideration Jo
Me again,
When using 6-4 in D-CAM and trying to make certain walls current, the function does not work for my BA walls. It works for all my other walls?? ![]()
As with walls, the software numbers opening as they are inputted. If you delete or add opening your numbering can get out of sequence.
The wall renumbering allows to manipulate the wall number to suit drawing layout style. For example, using grids.
When searching for a particular opening on a large floorplan, it seems easier to locate opening when they are in some kind of sequential pattern, be it clockwise around the perimeter walls of whichever system you like. Being able to renumber them just gives flexibility.
Another way might be if we could simply output the opening number to the database when outputting lists.
