On a model of a house I would like to show the ground. That could I easy do with a ceiling with grass texture.

But in this case the ground has a slope. So how to do that? The model of the house is only a model - no timbers inside walls etc.

Maybe I could use roof calculation? But then the "roof" would cut the bottom of my walls in the basement...

Ooh, I can not open your version of the house, because your software version is newer than mine. But that's ok - I know now what to change. Thank's again. So now I don't need to stop smoking strange tobaco - because that was not the reason.....

Eeiiiih - I made wrong definition of slices ...2, 1, 0, -1, -2..., that never happened to me before... #-o And I understand what you mean with walls that are only above cutting slice of roof.

Thank you, very, very much for your excellent help!! :grinning_squinting_face: :applause:

If I change the heights for the roof there is no problems with colors. Is it a problem, that I have two topfloors TF2 and TF3 - I needed that to put the wall elements on top of each other, so they could go to the ridge.

    - Der_planner: Interesting - I will keep it in mind. But one thing that could be difficult is to make the roof with these curved surfaces and edges, that makes this kind of roof so beautiful.

    - Jens Krause: What you are saying is, that any picture as texture? - so I could take a picture of a brick wall or whatever and use as texture.

As beams, as far as I remember. I think I was thinking about if I should choose beams or another. The definition of the material should be as the definition of SPF. SPF have 0,0 in the profile, as far as I remember - is that necessary?

I was trying (more experiments...) to draw a wall complete with facade boards. In this case 1:2 vertical boards. I just used SPF for the material - but what if I want another colour, like paint or like Sibirian Larch, ThermoWood, cedar...?

And what if I want to use horizontal profiled boards for the facade - ah maybe then I have to create a profile in Mdatabase...??

And another thing - I don't remember how to put realistic look windows and doors in the wall.

I am making new experiments, he, he....

If creating posts or plates, and using the material INTH (Inthermo) I cannot use the distribute function?? The material is entered in the material database, only as a material, not with a profile.

Dietrichs is not (primarily) an architectural software like ArhiCad, Vectorworks or others. But those software on the other hand are only architectural software, and cannot (I suppose) create machinefiles for CNC kind of machines for timber processing.

So if you are building wooden houses, and you want both worlds (architectural 3D views + 3D timber projects and machinefiles) inside one program - then maybe Dietrichs is a very good choice.

Dietrichs is very strong - the strongest I know and have ever seen - on 3D modelling of timber structures. So accurate, precise and quite easy. And you can make complete house structures including facade finish for 3D views. Only missing for the last issue is a bigger database with doors and windows - if you want to show exactly how the house will look like.

I don't know, I will check tomorrow. But that is D-Cam, not wall design. Is it not possible in wall design? Because items drawn in D-Cam will not show up at timberlists, as far as I remember??
