Another question - since it seems like you don't want to answer the questions about the graphic cards.... But LG says that the mentioned ATI in Z1 has enough power to run OpenGL without problems, so I think also the Nvidia can.

But another question could be: How to install Dietrichs without floppy disc? Is it possible to copy the contents of the floppy disc to a USB Memory stick, and use that in stead of the floppy drive??

I am trying to convert some AutoCad plans to DXF and import them in Dietrich. But only part of the original autocad drawing is imported into Dietrisch. What version of DXF should I use - 2004? Is there anything I could do with the original autocad drawing before I save as DXF??

So I think Windows XP Pro it is.... Also for the reason to have the same system on both my stationary computer and the laptop.

But I would still like your comments on the graphic cards in the two laptops, I am looking at:

    - LG Z1-A3E3V: 12,1" 1280 x 800 (WXGA), ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 with up to 384 MB Hypermemory.

    - LG M1-KBSPV3: 15" 1400x1050 (SXGA+), NVidia GeForce Go 7400.

And the Danish for tastatur / keyboard is: Tastatur...

The screen resolution is 1280x800. I know the icons and text might get smaller etc. etc. - but please remember that I am not talking about a desktop replacement. My desktop is with 19" flat screen - I don't remember what resolution, probably 1280x1024, so the resolution width is the same.

I don't think icons will dissaper behind the right margin, but perhaps they will regroup. But that doesn't matter so much for me. I don't think I am going to use it very much for drawing - but I am going to the Philippines in 1 month in July, and I was thinking I could use some of the time to work. I have had a 12" laptop (some years ago) that I used without problems also for autocad - but at that time I had only laptop and no desktop computer.

No mouse and normal keyboard for laptop - why not it is almost the same and of course I will use normal mouse, and I have a wireless keypad for numeric use, that I can use with the laptop. I don't think it will be a problem. And again: It is not a desktop replacement.

So again (and again) I ask: Is the graphics in this laptop good for Dietrichs work??

    See: http://nordic.lge.com/dk/prodm…amp;model=Select+a+model#

See also M1, that could be an alternative: http://nordic.lge.com/dk/prodm…M2FTV3&model=NOTHING#

But I prefer Z1 for mobility.

Why you want big screen? This is not for desktop replacement, but to bring on travel. And 12" is big enough for drawing and serious working - to my opinion. So is the graphic card in the mentioned LG good for Dietrichs?

I am drawing roof to be made of several seperate elements (cassettes), so I have a building outline for each element. And I want a drawing for each element, exactly as I can from ceiling design. How??!!

I don't like roof design very much, it is more difficult to work with than ceiling design. - I would like it to be more like ceiling and wall design. Maybe the possibilty to choose between to roof design modes: The traditional mode, and a element mode: This could perhaps be done by selecting a roof outline you want to work in - and then you work in that horizontally, and not with the slope of the roof.

Oooohhh yyeeesss, that distance - of course - I was blind because I always use to cut to 0 of the distance, Ha! I learn a few things today, and the program have also surprised me today. I found out that when making drawings of walls and ceilings, I can have the program to make drawings for all walls in the house at once, in stead of opening each wall, make drawing, open next wall.... I didn't know that....

I found out making the horizontal and vertical cuts with the distances - I did it in roof design, with defining cutting lines with point to point in side views, defining these points with reference points. It would be easier to make these cuts, if it was possible to draw assisting geometry in side view in roof design.

But help me in more detail with the birth mouth, it doesn't work for me. Step by step, what to do?

    This hardcopy program seems useful!

About my cuttings - Der_planner and perhaps also Jason: Your solutions cuts directly to fit exactly to fit the I-beam, I don't want that - but lets see in 15 minutes, if I get it.
