I would like to have beam dimensions (width and height) shown on the beams when I bring a section from D-CAM to D-CAD. Is this possible? If not, can width and height be added to the Timber List? It currently only shows the length.
Beam Dimensions on Bent Drawing

Hi Peter,
Beam dimension are not available in D-CAM but rather wall, floor and roof. You can create virtually any timber list with project data and copy it into your drawing.

Thanks, Jason.
So, just to confirm, the only way to get a timber list with beam dimensions into D-CAD is to create it in Project Data (or get wall/floor/roof modules)? -
Hi Peter,
With version 7.03 and newer you have the option to store the "Object Designation". You can change the object designation of every beam to whatever you like and save this into a drawing. So it is possible to get the beam dimensions on a drawing from D-CAM. I should also say that you can leave the "611/" etc. in front of your object designation. Example 611/8x8, this way you still have the ability to filter out all posts, rafters, etc. You can check this out here:

Is Version 7.03 now available?

Hi Dan,
Please contact your sales representative directly for all software version updates.

Peter if you want to have your beam dimension on your timbers when you create a single beam drawing you have to check the box in "more settings" for this to happen.
Then when you bring your beam in from storage it will have the dimension on it.
You'll see the more setting box in one attached screen capture (beam dimensions-1), and the drawing with the dimension enlarged in the other(beam dimensions-2).
Hope that helps.Jim Rogers
