If I for example would like to share a concrete stair profile with someone else, is it possible to send that material database position to that person? (Version 7.03).

Copy the file 'dhpempty.mdb' from your database directory into another directory and change the name to 'dhpstamm.mdb'.
Now start the data transfer of the project data program. Select the new (empty) dhdpstamm.mdb for the data transfer.
Now move your material into this empty database and send it to the other person. This person has to do the same as you but in the other direction to get the material into his databse. -
