Hello! I am trying to design this gable piece so that 2 separate beams connect into that king post. That way I wont have to cut the curve out of a 3 foot wide piece of wood. Any suggestions as to how to connect? Just a simple tenon on each side?
If there is not a lot of tension on that assembly then that would work. If there is tension maybe a spline through the king and into each piece would make it stronger, if you use a hardwood spline.
