The “store for list” option does not go to the next available number in the database, this is problematic because if not careful the list will be “mixed” with a list that was previously created. Instead, the database has to be opened to see what the next available number is and that number need to be manually input. The material list creation (in dcam)works because it automatically uses the next available number in the database.

I cannot reproduce that.
I create a list with number B22.
Then I create the next list and I automaticaly get the number B23. -
It's done it version 9, and still in 10.02.

What happens with the number if you want to create a second list?
There are different types of lists. In this case a panel list is created but not a list for beams. Each type of lists has its own numbers. Perhaps this is where your problem comes from? -
Take a look at the attached file and create a material list to see if any list created "combines" with an already created list in project data.
When I create a material list in this project, it wants to create 012 list, but a list has already been created here.

You attached just a single position. This will not help me to find the problem because I do not have your project data base. So the situation on my computer will be completely different to your situation. I need your complete project if it is not too big.
You can too send it to support@dietrichs.com
