How to delete a twin part building?

  • Hi.

Assume you have a building, that you mirror to create another building that is a mirrored copy of the first building.

Then I want to delete the one building from the position. Perhaps because the position with both buildings are so heavy, that the program becomes unstable. Do I reeally have to go through and delete every single wall and ceiling?? It takes a long time just to delete one wall. Is it not possible to select everything for that building, including ceiling ares and walls?? In D-cam I can select the objects (timber parts), but I still have to go to ceiling areas and delete every of the single areas and then go to ground plans and delete every single wall. Even though the construction objects have been deleted in D-cam, this still takes very long time.

    Is there another way?

  • Thorvald,

When you mirrored the building, I am guessing that you kept it on the same storey. If you did, then you will have to delete the wall and ceiling areas manually.

If, when you mirrored the building, you selected the box to count up storey numbers, then you can just delete the storey, and all the walls and ceilings associated with that storey will be deleted.

  • Ahahahaha - excellent tip - I will remember that to the next time... I did it the hard way this time. And when I was more or less finished I realized something... The one house was a mirrored copy of the other house, yes. And when you mirror one house you get 2 houses.

But - In this case, the one house is also a exact copy of the other house - just rotated 90 degrees........ And I found out that when you rotate one house you get one house... So at the end I did in 1 hour what I spend 7-8 on. Just rotate the house -90 and then change wall names according to the house name. ooooouuuuucchhhhhh - so easy!!!!!
