Thanks Jason. I'm running v9.02. Hopefully the update will fix it.

Jason,
Finally getting back to this...
I have attached a brace drawing that shows where the internal point hatch has been defined by the turned off hidden lines layer.
Peter -
Previously, I have been able to not show/turn off the hidden lines layer(4-1) and create hatched (2-01) areas using "internal point" that were not influenced by the hidden lines layer. Then after I created the hatch, I could turn on/show the hidden lines again.
With V9.02, when I turn off the hidden lines, they are still recognized by the "internal point" hatch tool. I can use the "outline" rather than the "internal point", but that takes longer.

I'd like to transfer some General and Single Beam Storage settings into 9.02. I assume I can do this with Work Envt Data Transfer, but I can't find where they are.
Peter -
Thanks for the suggestions. I reinstalled yesterday and all works fine so far.
Peter -
I tried with "ENG2009". DCAD still won't open.
-
The problem is in all projects.
I have tried closing the program and restarting as well as shutting down the computer and restarting.
It won't open with 4-2 from project administration either. -
Thanks for the suggestion, Dan. Unfortunately I can't get DCAD to run with any of the work environments.
Peter -
It worked fine with v 9.02 until I did the Work Environment data transfer.

Nothing happens when I try to open d-cad (the 2D program). There is no error message, it just doesn't start. I've tried starting it with 1-01-1 from D-CAM and by trying to open a drawing in Project Administration.

I may have inadvertently transferred something I shouldn't have from a v8 work environment to v9.02. I can no longer open D-CAD. Is there a way to go back or must I reload v 9.02?
-
Thanks for the responses, Wil and Jim. I haven't yet resolved the issue. This is the same video card I used before, but I had to reload the video drivers after system corruption. I have tried a whole bunch of drivers without any change in the OpenGL display. I hate to try a new video card since this one worked fine before. Any more ideas?

After re-installing 8.04, there are diagonal lines on all object faces in OpenGL. Is there a setting to get rid these?
-
Thanks Wil and Jason. I hadn't worked with the "fixture list" before. It all makes sense now.
-
In version 8, adding fixtures with tenons is great, but how do I use this feature? What parameters do I need to use when creating a peg so they have added length and show up on a timber list?
Thanks,
Peter -
Thanks, Jason.
So, just to confirm, the only way to get a timber list with beam dimensions into D-CAD is to create it in Project Data (or get wall/floor/roof modules)? -
I would like to have beam dimensions (width and height) shown on the beams when I bring a section from D-CAM to D-CAD. Is this possible? If not, can width and height be added to the Timber List? It currently only shows the length.

I am working with an engineer who would like a 3D DXF of just the centerlines (axis) of a frame. Is is possible to do this?
-
Yes, I have read the other posts, but also know things change in 10 months.

With my laptop hard drive just about full and 3 years old, I'm in the market for a desktop computer. I'm wondering what others would suggest:
-stick with XP or go with Vista?
-dual precessor?
-Intel or AMD?
-Graphics? Integrated?
-RAM?
