GOT IT! Der_Planer
Thanks!

Hi Der_Planer,
Ok 5-1-? So far no luck.

Is it possible to create this dimension in 3D? Please see attachment. If possible can someone please advise.
Thanks!

Hi Jens,
I can see which members I moved into my user defined MOS and can preview the members, the ones highlighted in green. I then" take out" the check mark in the S =show and they do not disappear. Could it be because some are valleys and jack rafters? I also created a user defined MOS for some concrete piers and I am able to hide them.
Thanks!
Kayaker
I created a user defined MOS moved some members into it but now I cannot hide them. There must be a reason why I cannot hide them can someone advise?

I am sending a ground plan drawing to PlanCad I select my template then click the ok button and it asks if I want to separate this wall and freezes up. I am not sure why this is happening.

Thanks Joachim,
Your instructions worked great!

Using the assisting geometry function what is the best way to project a point from the center of the column to the x y plane?
Thanks

Hi Jason,
Your absolutely correct. Now that I know that it can't be changed hopefully larch transparent will be added.
Thanks!

Hi Roger,
I think I need to get to this stage some where in the texture set in order to make the change to larch, but I can not find where to make the change. See attachment.

The png shows fir transparent it looks more like spruce pine. Can anyone tell me where to go to make the change to Larch?
Thank You

Hi Thorvald,
I'm glad to hear an experienced user like you uses the D-cad 2d approach early in the preliminary and design development phase. For a minute I was having second thoughts about this approach, because it is still a lot of mouse work for me. I'm wondering if any of the top ten extreme POWER users do the same.
Thanks for the reply!

Thanks Thorvald,
I think I know why you suggested rotating the view port thinking I need to make room on my drawing. I will try Jason’s approach, I need to rotate the plan view drawing and then project lines from it as I prepare for a 2D front elevation if that makes any sense. I'm just waiting for someone to ball me out for not using D-cam and having elevations automatically generated. But I need to make design decisions first thinking this will save time in the modeling phase using D-cam. I hope.
Thanks!

Is it possible ?
kayaker
Is there a fast way? It would be nice if one could hold down the shift key select a layer, go down the layer list, hold the shift key select another layer, then all layers in between would automatically be selected as well. ![]()

Hi Wil,
My view port in "D-cad 2D" is at 1:32 3/8" scale. Do I change this view port scale before exporting?
Kayaker
I exported a floor plan drawing at a scale of 1:32 now I’m having scaling problems in the cad program which I am trying to import into. Any ideas how I can make this work, scale properly?
