    Hello.

I have discovered something amd I am wondering if it is a new feature or maybe an unknown side effect of software programming.

You have al wall with door or window, you put gypsum at the wooden structure, that are automatically cut around the opening. Then you change the door window to another size and / or move it. The cut in the gypsum are automatically updated!!???? :grinning_squinting_face:

    This is quite amazing!

When you look after a notebook avoid those with graphic cards with shared memory. If you still have a problem to find a notebook, tell me what screen size you would like and maybe I can give you examples of good notebooks.

Hello. I think it would be nice if the numbering system from ground plan, also was inoperated in ceiling areas. So that it would be possible to change the order of ceiling areas. When working with concrete elements, it is convenient to have a ceiling area for each concrete slab.

I have a small wish for the wish-list: The possibility to simply change a wall number and all walls with numbers after this walls goes a number up. Now you have to renumber all walls untill you reach the wall you want to renumber...

    Hi.

I thought that we could share our experiences with version 7.02, and gather information about problems in this version. Because to me it seems to have the exact same problems as I experienced in 6.02.

    1) C:\Dietrichs06\Windat\DHPdat.ini dissapears once in a while, so the program cannot be started. The file is renamed to DHPdat.new and can be renamed back to DHPdat.ini.

    2) Some times D-Cad will not start and makes it necessary to shut down the program from task manager, because the program freezes and don't answer. This is after showing something in OpenGl - then D-Cad can't be started.

Se also topic about problems in 6.02 for deeper explanations.

I have two walls, I would like to assemble into one wall, so that also the windows and doors from the one wall now belongs to the long wall. Has this become possible in version 7.02??

You're right - my calculations show that the strength of the beam is ok, but deformation is a little bit too much (normally it is ok to evaluate deformation for dead load alone and for variable load alone) - so the stiffness is just ok. But it's a long beam and wood will settle over time and I wanted to add some extra security for strength and stiffness. Of course it is some extra work to make the girder part, but not much. Sorry that the calculation is in Danish. I haven't yet had the time to translate this excel program.

The nice thing is though, is, it is free (assuming your time isn't worth anything...) Doing the calculation in Excel, I don't think I will do that - first of all because I don't have the time, secondly my time is absolutely not free of charge. A few weeks after I started in this job, my boss still wondered how I managed to convince him to give me that salary...

I didn't think about that, if I analyze the girder structure I could combine the moments of inertia with the OSB from the box beam part - pretty good idea.

But still - I would love to make that calculation with all parts together in a FEM analysis!!

I have actually calculated the box-beam part of the beam, without killing my calculator (I programmed a Excel program to do it). These calculations are based on a box beam with top and bottom flange of wood, and side flanges of x layers of OSB, glued to the bottom and top flanges. It is basically the same calculation as for a I-beam. And yes - even though I am a clever engineer ( ) it took me a while to read and understand the formulas behind and to put it into the Excel sheet. But it would be even worse with mechanical connections as nails/screws and the strength and stiffness of the beam would not be as good. I also know how to calculate the girder beam part, with a software (QSE), but I don't have that software at hand. For me the very interesting part would be to calculate the combinated beam to see how good the design actually is. I think it might be possible with Robobat software or similar FEM analysis software.
